We are pleased to announce that the Town of La Conner has partnered with the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS) effective 02/24/2022. BLS will process the Town of La Conner’s business licenses and renewals. In order for BLS to do this, the Town’s license expiration date has been extended to 3/31/2022.
Registering with the Town of La Conner through the Business Licensing Service
Our partnership with BLS will allow you “one-stop shopping” when maintaining or renewing many of your state and city licenses. New or expanding businesses will be able to apply for their city license online along with other state and local licenses that partner with BLS.
What do I have to do?
Right now, you do not have to take any action. The week after February 24, 2022, the Business Licensing Service will send you a license renewal letter with instructions on how to renew your Town of La Conner business license. This will give each business 4 weeks to renew and the first renewal may be pro-rated to bring the expiration date in line with an already established expiration date on the account. You may use e-check or credit card to make payment for online transactions. If you prefer to renew your license by mail using the BLS renewal form, please do so in plenty of time to reach BLS before the expiration date and include a check made out to DOR for the appropriate amount.
What fees will I have to pay?
For renewals, you will still pay the Town of La Conner license fee (please see below for updated business license fee information). If your renewal is for 12 or more months, it will also show a $10 renewal processing fee for all state and local licenses for your business location.
